AC chargers (7–22 kW) are the right choice for housing associations, commercial buildings and workplaces – places where cars are parked for hours. DC fast chargers (30 kW and up) are for locations where charging time must be short: roadside stops, shopping centres, fleet depots and public charging parks. Yes. AC chargers come with Type 2, the standard in the Nordics and Europe. DC chargers support CCS – and most models also CHAdeMO and NACS. That covers every EV on the market.

MCS (Megawatt Charging System) is the new European standard for charging heavy vehicles. Ordinary fast chargers are not enough when an electric truck needs to charge large batteries in a short time – GRASEN's S 1600 system delivers up to 1500 kW through liquid-cooled cables, enough to charge a truck within the driver's mandatory rest break. The system is on sale from 1 August 2026.
Yes – and that is one of the most important features of the S 1600 Charging Dispenser. In addition to MCS, it has CCS2 with a liquid-cooled cable up to 600 A. That means trucks, buses, vans and passenger cars without an MCS inlet charge at the same station. You build one station that serves your entire fleet today – and that is already ready for tomorrow's MCS trucks.
The most important factor is available grid capacity. We map the building's grid connection, size the system with distributed S 960/S 1600 architecture that shares power dynamically between charging points, and can supplement with battery storage (BESS) that cuts peak loads – often cheaper than upgrading the grid connection. The whole process, from site survey to commissioning, is handled by our own people.
Yes. In Norway, Enova has a dedicated programme for depot charging for heavy vehicles – support for chargers at depots and terminals where vehicles are parked for long periods. We help you with sizing and the application, free of charge. Get in touch and we'll map out what your project can receive.
The system is designed and connected by a certified electrician. 7.4 kW requires 1-phase 32 A per point, 11–22 kW requires 3-phase. The chargers have built-in residual current protection and dynamic load balancing that adapts charging to the building's available capacity so the main fuse is never overloaded – use our capacity calculator as a first estimate. The chargers also work standalone, but for smart control, payment and remote monitoring they connect via Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G with built-in SIM. Mobile connectivity means the charger can be placed anywhere – without cabled infrastructure – and the chargers switch automatically between networks for maximum uptime.
OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is an open standard for communication between charger and back office. All GRASEN chargers support OCPP 1.6J, which means you are free to choose any platform for payment, monitoring and administration – you are not locked to one supplier. The chargers can also run on GRASEN's own CSMS platform and app.
Yes. Dynamic load balancing automatically shares available power between the chargers, and the distributed S-series systems share up to 1600 kW between many charging points as needed. That lets you expand the charging park without upgrading the grid connection for every new point.
Yes. The chargers are built for outdoor installation in all weather, with an ingress protection rating and operating temperature range that cover Nordic conditions. Details per model are in the datasheet.
All GRASEN chargers come with a 26-month warranty. In addition, statutory consumer protection applies as normal.
Yes. The products are CE certified and built to current European standards. The DC chargers are OCPP compatible and ready for the AFIR requirements for public paid charging in the EEA.
It varies with model and configuration – standard models may be in stock, larger systems are ordered from the factory. The exact delivery time is always confirmed in the quote.
Several municipalities have their own grant schemes for charging infrastructure in housing associations, and for heavy vehicles there is Enova's depot charging programme in Norway. Schemes change regularly, so get in touch – we map which schemes apply to your project and help with the application.
Yes. We help with financing and leasing tailored to the project, whether it concerns a single charger or a complete charging park with battery buffer. Leasing gives you a predictable monthly cost without tying up capital, and a service agreement can be included in the same contract.

Yes. We supply Grasen battery storage from 125 kW all-in-one cabinets to 5 MWh (2.5 MW) container systems – which parallel-connect into multi-MW plants. The systems are used to shave peak loads, store cheap electricity and provide extra power for fast charging. See the Energy storage section or contact us for sizing.
Business grid fees are largely based on your highest monthly power peak. The battery charges when consumption is low and delivers power during peaks, smoothing your draw from the grid. This reduces the demand charge – often enough for the battery to pay for itself. Try the demand charge calculator on the front page.
Yes – this is one of the most important use cases. The battery delivers peak power to the chargers, while the grid supplies only a steady base load. This lets you establish fast charging – including for heavy vehicles – without costly grid upgrades.
Yes, the systems can be configured for backup power so critical operations continue during an outage. Duration depends on battery size and which loads are prioritised – we help you size it correctly.
Installation, service and maintenance are carried out by our own service and installation company, Globe Energy Charge AS – with certified refrigeration technicians and authorised electricians. Before the system is signed off, we carry out a delivery inspection: batteries travel a long way before reaching your site, and transport damage is not always visible from the outside. We inspect and document the equipment while the right to claim still applies – never sign off a delivery as "no remarks" before it has been inspected. Read more under Service and inspection.
